Foundation Awards $28,557 to 4 Charitable Partners

Vanderburgh County, Indiana—September 26, 2018 The Vanderburgh Community Foundation has announced their 4th quarter grant awards, totaling $28,557 for 4 projects serving Vanderburgh County. The grants were made from the Friends of Vanderburgh County Fund and the James A. McCarty Fund for the Arts.

All the grants were made possible by people and organizations establishing and contributing to Community Good and Field of Interest Funds held by the Foundation.

Based on the Foundation’s funding priorities of arts and culture, community development, education, health, human services, and other civic endeavors, such as the environment, recreation, and youth development, the 4th quarter grants conclude the Foundation’s fiscal year 2018 Community Good Grant Program. For the year, the Foundation has awarded $120,257 through this particular Grant Program for projects and programs serving Vanderburgh County.

The 4th quarter grant recipients are:

Children’s Center for Dance Education to provide free admission to 3rd and 4th graders from low income schools to attend the “The Children’s Nutcracker” annual morning show,

Lampion Center to support the Stewards of Children training program that uses evidence informed techniques to reduce the occurrence of child sexual abuse,

Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center for restroom accessibility improvements to accommodate children, youth, and adults with disabilities and their caregivers, and

EVSC Foundation to support the Hanger’s Program’s purchase and installation of a high capacity clothes washer and dryer and an inventory control software package to increase the capacity of onsite laundry facilities and enable staff to track donations with an inventory system.
