Family of Funds

We work with donors to fulfill their charitable goals by structuring charitable funds that are customized to fit their unique goals, easy to implement, and supported by our broad community knowledge and expertise. Following is a list of funds that individuals, families, businesses, civic groups, and agencies have established to benefit Gibson County, now and forever into the future. An unrestricted fund created by Shane Bonaparte to help the Foundation respond to changing needs in the community.

Brown Family Fund

An unrestricted fund created by the Brown Family to help the Foundation respond to changing needs in the community.

An unrestricted fund created by Phillip and Sharen Buyher to help the Founda­tion respond to changing needs in the community.

Ann, John and William Eugene Dunn Fund

An unrestricted fund created by Ann and John Dunn to help the Foundation respond to changing needs in the community.

Friends of Gibson County Fund

An unrestricted fund created by the Gibson County Com­munity Foundation to support its unrestricted grantmaking.

Jack Freudenberg Family Fund

An unrestricted fund created by the Jack Freudenberg Family to help the Founda­tion respond to changing needs in the community.

German American Bancorp Community Fund

An unrestricted fund established by German American Bancorp.

Gibson Board of Trustees Fund

An unrestricted fund created by the Gibson County Com­munity Foundation Board of Trustees to support the Foundation’s unrestricted grantmaking.

Troy and Virginia Land Unrestricted Fund

An unrestricted fund created by Troy Land to help the Foundation respond to changing needs in the community.

Melvin Oing Memorial Fund

An unrestricted fund established by Mary Winifred Oing in memory of her husband to help the Foundation respond to changing needs in the community.

David and Janet Oldham Family Fund

An unrestricted fund created by the David and Janet Oldham Family to help the Foundation respond to changing needs in the community.

Susan K. Partenheimer Fund

An unrestricted fund created by Susan K. Partenheimer to help the Women’s Fund of Gibson County respond to changing needs in the community.

Smithville Charitable Foundation Fund of Gibson County

An unrestricted fund established with a grant from the Smithville Charitable Foundation to help the Gibson County Community Foundation address the community’s greatest needs as they emerge and change over time.

Ray J. (Jerry) Watson and Ruth L. Watson Memorial Fund

An unrestricted fund created by Cathy Harvey and Cindy Hiday in memory of their parents to help the Founda­tion respond to changing needs in the community.

Women’s Fund of Gibson County

An unrestricted endowment fund established by the Gibson County Community Foundation to improve the quality of life in Gibson County.  This fund’s grant cycle is separate from the Foundation’s Community Good grant cycle.

Women’s Fund of Gibson County (Non-permanent)

A non-permanent fund established by the Gibson County Community Foundation to improve the quality of life in Gibson County.  This fund’s grant cycle is separate from the Foundation’s Community Good grant cycle.

Community Fund of East Gibson

A field-of-interest fund established by the Gibson County Community Foundation Board of Trustees to benefit Barton, Center, and Columbia townships.

Community Fund of North Gibson

A field-of-interest fund established by the Gibson County Community Founda­tion Board of Trustees to benefit Patoka, Washington, and White River townships.

Community Fund of South Gibson

A field-of-interest fund established by the Gibson County Community Founda­tion Board of Trustees to benefit Johnson, Montgom­ery, Union, and Wabash townships.

Toyota Fund

A field-of-interest fund created by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana Inc. to benefit education in Gibson County.

Alissa J. Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund

A designated fund established by the Davis family in memory of Alissa J. Davis, to benefit Gibson Southern Scholarships, Inc.

Anonymous Fund HH

A designated fund created by an anonymous donor to benefit the Little Sisters of the Poor in Evansville and St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt.

Richard and Martha Brumfield Fund

A designated fund created by Richard and Martha Brumfield to benefit the First Presbyterian Church in Princeton.

Michael Edward Deno Memorial Fund

A designated fund created by Cynthia E. (Deno) Walker in memory of her husband to benefit Oak­land City University.

Dream Fund

A designated fund created by John A. and Margaret Ensor to benefit the Princeton Area Dollars for Scholars.

Gibson County Community Foundation Administrative Fund

A designated fund created by the Gibson County Community Foundation to support admini­stration of the Foundation.

An agency fund created by the Gibson County Area Rehabili­tation Centers Inc.

Gibson County Fairgrounds Endowment Fund

An agency fund created by Gibson County Fairground Pavilion, Inc.

Gibson County Fairgrounds Improvement Fund

A designated pass-through fund to provide support to Gibson County Fairgrounds Pavilion, Inc., and the Fairgrounds Improvement Project.

Gibson County Habitat for Humanity Fund

An agency fund established by the Gibson County Habitat for Humanity.

Gibson County Healthcare Fund

An agency fund created by Gibson General Hospital.

Gibson General Health Foundation Endowment Fund

An agency fund created by the Gibson General Hospital Foundation.

Heartland Health Care Foundation Fund

An agency fund created by the Heartland Health Care Foundation.

Alan Hopewell Memorial Scholarship Fund

A designated fund established by Carol Hopewell in memory of her husband, Alan, to benefit the scholarship program at South Gibson Dollars for Scholars.

Troy and Virginia Land Fund

A designated fund established by Troy Land as a permanent source of support for the Gibson County Community Foundation’s operating needs.

Byron O. Marvel Memorial Scholarship Fund

A designated fund created by Thyra M. Mauck in memory of her father to benefit South Gibson Dollars for Scholars.

A designated fund created by Wayne Parke in memory of his brother to benefit East Gibson Dollars for Scholars.

A designated fund established by Stu and Kathy Parks for the Melba Phillips Memorial Scholarship and the John T. and Marjorie B. Parks Memorial Scholarship administered by Gibson Southern Scholarships Inc.

Patoka United Methodist Church Fund

A designated fund created to benefit the Patoka United Methodist Church of Patoka, Indiana.

John Knox Poyner Baseball Memorial Scholarship Fund

A designated fund established by William and Susan Poyner in memory of their son, John, to benefit the scholarship program at Gibson Southern Scholarships, Inc.

1971 WMHS Alumni Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund created by the Wood Memorial High School Class of 1971 Alumni Association.

Arts Council of Gibson County Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established by the former Arts Council of Gibson County to benefit graduating seniors of Gibson County high schools pursuing advanced education in the fields of art, drama, or music.

Lois Brink Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund created by Bruce C. Brink, Sr. and family in memory of Lois Brink

Raymond and Gretchen Ceney Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established by Sarah Ceney in memory of Raymond and Gretchen Ceney to help students pursue advanced education.

Kevin Dillon Gibson Southern Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established in memory of Kevin Dillon by his family to help graduates of Gibson Southern High School pursue advanced education.

George and Dorothy Eykamp Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund by Dorothy M. Eykamp to benefit the children of employees of Mid-States Rubber Products.

Bob Key Memorial Education Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund created by Mary Key in memory of her husband. Bob Key was a husband and father whose chosen vocation was farming. Throughout his life, he pur­sued the perfection of his physical and managerial skills. He often took continuing education courses and taught seminars at Purdue University. He believed that success was achieved by a person’s own ability to accomplish a task as efficiently as possible. This scholarship is a continuation of his enthusiasm for lifelong learning.

Larry A. Kissel Purdue Challenge Award

A scholarship fund created by John and Phyllis Kissel in memory of their son, who was killed in a 1995 train accident. The award recognizes, re­wards and encourages academic perseverance.

Mark Kniese Scholarship Fund-Gibson County

A scholarship fund created by August Neal in memory of Mark Kniese, with whom she had been a counselor at YMCA Camp Carson in the mid-1970s.

Roy and Dorotha McCarty Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund created by the estate of Roy G. McCarty.

Betty Ann McCullough Education Fund

A scholarship fund created by the family and friends of Betty Ann McCullough.

Warren W. Parke Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund created in loving memory of Warren W. Parke by his daughter to honor his passion for sports, his contributions to the community, and his commitment to education.

Project Associates Engineering Scholarship Fund

A scholarship endowment fund created by Project Associates to provide support for engineering students attending or planning to attend the University of Evansville or the University of Southern Indiana. Such support shall be used to provide educational scholarships for those students who meet the established criteria and all other eligibility requirements.

Lura and Doyle Skelton Family Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund created by the Hillside United Methodist Church and Laurence F. Skelton in memory of his parents.

Sutch-Briner Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund created by Charles P. and Cathy J. Briner in loving memory of Pauline Hassel Briner Sutch, George Lester Sutch, and Jane McFetridge Sutch.
