gibson Community Scholarships

  • 1971 WMHS Alumni Scholarship ($500)

    Graduating seniors of Wood Memorial High School in good academic standing and pursuing post-sec­ondary education at any accredited educational institution. Financial need is not a requirement but may be considered in the selection process.

  • Arts Council of Gibson County Scholarship ($750)

    Applicants must be a graduating senior from any Gibson County high school with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) planning to pursue a two- or four-year degree at any accredited college or university in the field of art, drama, or music.

  • Betty Ann McCullough Education Grant ($3,500)

    Graduating seniors of Princeton Community High School demonstrating outstanding perseverance in mathematics and language arts throughout high school. Applicants must have surpassed expectations as indicated by past performance; intend to continue education in the mathematics field in college or vocational school; and succeeded in overcoming cultural, health and domestic obstacles. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

  • Bob Key Memorial Education Scholarship ($1,500)

    Applicants must be a graduating high school senior, a high school graduate, or must have received a high school equivalency certificate. Available to Gibson County residents desiring to improve their ability or knowledge through completion of a seminar, short course, or post-secondary education. Award also may be used to obtain educa­tional materials.

  • Kevin Dillon Gibson Southern Memorial Scholarship (Not awarding during the 2016-2017 school year.)

    Graduating seniors of Gibson Southern High School planning to pursue post-secondary education at any accredited college, university or technical/vocational school.

  • George and Dorothy Eykamp Scholarship (Junior College or State-Supported Technical College Scholarship Award) ($500)

    Applicants must be Gibson County residents or the natural or adopted children of a current employee who has completed the equivalent of one year of full-time service with Mid-States Rubber Prod­ucts prior to January 31 of the year in which the award is to be made. Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time course of study leading to a two-year degree or certificate at an accredited junior college or State-supported technical college. Applicants must have graduated in the upper half of their high school senior class.

  • George and Dorothy Eykamp Scholarship (College Scholarship Award) ($1,000)

    Applicants must be Gibson County residents or the natural or adopted children of a current employee who has completed the equivalent of one year of full-time service with Mid-States Rubber Products prior to January 31 of the year in which the award is to be made. Applicants must be enrolled in their sophomore year in a full-time course of study leading to a baccalaureate degree at an accredited four-year institution. Applicants must have graduated in the upper third of their high school senior class.

  • Jay Lampton Memorial Scholarship ($500)

    Graduating seniors of any high school served by the Community Foundation Alliance (which includes high schools located in the Indiana counties of Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick) with a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and who have been enrolled in technology courses during his or her high school education. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be planning to pursue post-secondary education at the Lincoln College of Technology (formerly Nashville Auto Diesel College) or another institution of higher education seeking a degree in auto mechanics.

  • Larry A. Kissel Purdue Challenge Award ($1,500)

    Applicants must be graduates of a Gibson County high school and residents of Gibson County, be enrolled full or part time as a second-, third-, or fourth-year undergraduate at any Purdue University campus, and must have completed the equivalent of two full-time semesters at Purdue or another institution. Prior enrollment at Purdue University is not a condition but will be considered in the selection process. Past recipients may reapply provided the applicant remains an undergraduate student at Purdue University with at least one semester of work uncompleted.

  • Lois Brink Memorial Nursing Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduates of any Gibson County high school who are enrolled, full- or part-time, as a second-, third-, or fourth-year student in an undergraduate nursing program (RN or BSN). Applicants must be in good standing with the university they are attending.

  • Lura and Doyle Skelton Family Memorial Scholarship ($500. Available to renewal candidate only.)

    Graduating seniors who are active members of the Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton, Indiana.  Applicants must be active in high school activities and be in the upper one half of his or her graduating class. The scholarship must be used at an accredited four-year college or university.

  • Mark Kniese Scholarship (Award amount and application deadline to be determined at the beginning of the 2017 summer camp season.)

    Applicants must be Camp counselors at YMCA Camp Carson located in Princeton, Indiana, planning post-secondary education at an accredited college or university. In addition to demonstrating dedication to and rapport with campers, applicants must exhibit the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

  • Roy and Dorotha McCarty Scholarship ($400)

    Graduating high school seniors who have successfully completed coursework and demonstrated outstanding promise in the shop/welding vocational pro­grams of Gibson Southern High School. Applicants must be planning to pursue post-secondary education in voca­tional arts at any accredited college or university.

  • Southwestern Indiana Master Gardener Association Scholarship ($2,000)

    Graduating seniors or graduates of any high school located in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, or Warrick counties who are planning full-time enrollment at an accredited college or university. Applicants must have a minimum 2.65 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) or equivalent and be planning to major in horticulture, botany, or landscape architecture or a major that has primary focus in horticulture, botany, or landscape architecture. Past recipients of the scholarship may reapply; however, renewal awards are not guaranteed.

  • Sutch–Briner Memorial Scholarship ($500)

    Residents of Hazelton, Patoka, or Mt. Olympus in Gibson County, or Decker in Knox County, Indiana who are graduating seniors of Princeton Community High School or high school graduates pursuing post-secondary education at any accredited college, university or technical/vocational school. Applicants must be in good academic standing with his or her high school or post-secondary educational institution at the time of application.

  • Warren W. Parke Memorial Scholarship ($150)

    Graduating seniors of Wood Memorial High School planning to pursue full-time enrollment at an accredited college or uni­versity. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale), have been involved in a school-sponsored sport each year of high school, and be regularly involved in com­munity service. Students who have been awarded full "cost of attendance" schol­arships as defined by the NCAA are not eligible to apply.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship for gibson County

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship (full tuition and required fees)

Be a resident of Indiana and a resident of or attend high school in Gibson County; be a graduate of an accredited Gibson County or Indiana high school by June 2018 and attend full senior year at the same high school; have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale); have a minimum SAT score of 1200 or a minimum ACT score of 25; be available for an interview on September 29, 2017 if selected as a finalist; apply for the scholarship in only one county.
