Funding requests are accepted once each year according to our grant cycle. Funding requirements may change from year to year; therefore, grant seekers are advised to revisit this page prior to beginning the grant application process. During 2021, the Women’s Fund will award a single grant of up to $10,000 to support a project or program in Daviess County.
The requirements and instructions provided here are to be considered accurate only for the duration of this particular grant cycle, which runs from February through June, 2021. Funding requests will be accepted from Monday, February 8 through Monday, March 22, 2021. Applications submitted after the March 22 deadline will not be considered.
The Women’s Fund of Daviess County welcomes funding requests from nonprofit organizations that are deemed tax-exempt under sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code and from governmental agencies serving the county. Requests from nonprofit organizations not classified as a 501(c)(3) public charity may be considered provided the project is charitable and supports a community need. The nonprofit may be required to obtain a fiscal sponsor.
Funding requests submitted by an entity under the auspices of another agency must include a written statement signed by the agency’s board president on behalf of the board of directors agreeing to act as the entity’s fiscal sponsor, to receive grant monies if awarded, and to oversee the proposed project.

Project Areas NOT Considered for Funding
- Religious organizations for religious purposes
- Political parties or campaigns
- Endowment creation or debt reduction
- Operating costs (Costs that keep the organization running and the doors open, i.e., general computer software or hardware, staff salary, general office supplies or equipment, utilities, etc.)
- Capital campaigns (Large capital projects that may take several years to complete where there is no defined area for use of the grant)
- Annual appeals or membership contributions
- Travel requests for groups or individuals such as bands, sports teams, or classes
Deliberation and Award
The Women’s Fund grants committee will review applications, conduct virtual site visits or phone conferences, and select finalists for further consideration. Applicants will be notified by April 30, 2021, whether or not they’ve been selected as a finalist. Each finalist will be invited to prepare a brief written summary (limited to one page front and back) of their project to be presented to the Women’s Fund membership. After reviewing the finalist projects, the Women’s Fund membership will cast their votes via mail, and the organization whose request receives the majority of votes will be awarded the grant. No lobbying or solicitation of Women’s Fund representatives is permitted.
Foundation staff will provide specific instructions to finalists at the time of notification. The grant recipient is expected to be announced in June.
A final report at project completion may be required by the organization whose request is approved for funding. Instructions and any required forms will be provided in the grant agreement.
