Knox Community Foundation Awards $62,000 To 17 Charitable Partners

(Vincennes, Indiana)  The Knox County Community Foundation is distributing $62,000 in grants to 17 local organizations through their 2020 Community Good Grants program.

This year’s grants provide flexible funding for a variety of charitable projects and organizations serving Knox County. Due to COVID-19 pandemic challenges facing organizations, the grants include support for specific projects and programs as well as general operating costs.

The grants are:

  • $2,500 to Knox County Fair for the McCormick Building Project;
  • $1,300 to Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana for Back to Troop Leader Kits for COVID Readiness;
  • $5,000 to Northwest Territory Art Guild for First City Public Sculpture Exhibition 2020;
  • $5,000 to The Salvation Army for operational support;
  • $3,000 to Old Town Players for operational support;
  • $5,000 to Knox County Superior Court 1 for the Family Recovery Court;
  • $2,100 to Helping His Hands Disaster Response, Inc. for the purchase of equipment to support the Mobile Food Pantry Program;
  • $3,600 to St. James Episcopal Church for the Red Door Food Pantry;
  • $5,000 to Pace Community Action Agency for COVID-19 assistance to Knox County residents;
  • $5,000 to Indiana Military Museum for exhibit development;
  • $3,500 to Isaiah 1:17 Project to purchase supplies for the Bags of Hope Program;
  • $5,000 to Blue Jeans Community Center, Inc. for operational support;
  • $5,000 to YMCA of Vincennes for increased staffing, PPE and cleaning supplies;
  • $2,500 to Backpacks of Love for VCSC for backpacks of food for children in the Vincennes Community School Corporation;
  • $2,500  to First Christian Church KETA (Kids Equipped to Achieve) for school supplies and toiletry items for students;
  • $3,000  to Knox County Drug Court Foundation for the Drug Court Foundation Incentive Program; and
  • $3,000  to The Lord’s Warehouse for the purchase of food pantry items

Funding for the program is provided by donors and organizations establishing and donating to 32 Community Good (unrestricted) funds held by the Foundation. Those funds are:
