Florence “Peg” Brenner came to Tell City with her husband, Howard, who was President of Tell City National Bank and a native of Tell City. Peg was a very community-minded person. She was very active in the St. Paul’s Church, a member of Tri Kappa and very supportive of a lot of community organizations. People that know her describe her as a real lady. She was a kind, gentle, caring person who loved to read. Peg loved the Perry County Library in Tell City. The Library provided her so much with her love of reading. She also thought it was well ran and an asset to the community. In 1996, Peg decided to set up a fund in the Community Foundation to help support the library….forever. She knew the fund that she was able to create would only provide a little bit of help to the library – but that help would be every year. Peg eventually moved to Louisville, Kentucky to be closer to her children. She passed away in the summer of 2013, but thanks to her generosity the Perry County Public Library will benefit from her fund forever.
