perry Community Scholarships

  • Birch and Ruth Shafer Scholarship ($10,000. Multiple scholarships will be awarded from this amount.)

    Graduating seniors of any Perry County high school with a cumulative grade point average ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 (4.0 scale).

    Deadline to Apply: February 28, 2019
  • Branchville Correctional Facility Memorial Scholarship ($900)

    Applicants must be full or part-time employees of the Branchville Correctional Facility or dependents of employees. The dependents must be 23 years old or younger. The applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a course of study leading to an undergraduate degree at any accredited college, university or technical school. Preference will be given to employees and then to employees' dependents.

  • Buehler Foods Scholarship (Not awarding in 2018-2019)

    Graduating seniors of any Perry County high school demonstrating good academic standing.

  • Cecil and Olive Foster Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduating seniors of any Perry County high school enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited four-year college, university or institution; an accredited two-year program leading to a four-year undergraduate degree; an accredited two-year degree program; or a full- time program at an accredited trade, vocational or technical school.

  • Charles S. (Blackie) and Rose H. Paulin Scholarship ($900)

    Perry County residents who are considered non-traditional students and pursuing post-secondary education at any accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school.  Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and must demonstrate financial need and a desire and drive to succeed.  If there are an insufficient number of qualified applications from non-traditional students, the scholarship will then be made available to home-schooled and graduating high school seniors who reside in Perry County.  (A non-traditional student is defined as an individual who delayed his or her enrollment in postsecondary education for at least one year after graduating or withdrawing from high school.)

  • Earl and Hazel Etienne Scholarship ($500)

    Graduating seniors of any Perry County high school planning to major in education and pursue a career in education. Applicants must demonstrate good academic standing and financial need.

  • Edgar and Evelyn Whitcomb Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduating seniors of Perry Central High School with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale) who plan to pursue and 2- or 4-year post-secondary education at any accredited, nonprofit college or university located in Indiana. Applicants must be planning a major course of study in law, education, or medicine.

  • Gene and Christina Schwindel Scholarship ($2,000)

    Graduating seniors or graduates of Perry Central High School pursuing post-secondary education.

  • J. Matthew Moore Memorial Scholarship ($500)

    Graduating seniors of Cannelton High School or Tell City High School pursuing post-secondary education. Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of no less than 2.0 (4.0 scale).

  • Jay Lampton Memorial Scholarship ($400)

    Graduating seniors of any high school served by the Community Foundation Alliance (which includes high schools located in the Indiana counties of Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick) with a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and who have been enrolled in technology courses during his or her high school education. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be planning to pursue post-secondary education at the Lincoln College of Technology (formerly Nashville Auto Diesel College) or another institution of higher education seeking a degree in auto mechanics.

  • John Marion Walker Scholarship (Not awarding in 2018-2019)

    Graduating seniors of Tell City High School or Perry Central High School pursuing post-secondary education at any Indiana institution of higher learning. Applicants must be considered a rural resident during their entire senior year of high school, must have attended their entire senior year at Tell City High School or Perry Central High School, and must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale).

  • John Williams Memorial Scholarship ($1,500)

    Graduating seniors of any Perry County high school with a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) planning to pursue education or training at any accredited vocational school.

  • Loren and Bernice Lanman Scholarship (Three $600 awards)

    Graduating seniors from each of the three Perry County high schools who have been enrolled during the entire senior year.

  • Mark ”Flash” Kleeman Memorial Scholarship ($400)

    Graduating seniors of Tell City High School, Perry Central High School or Heritage Hills High School with a cumulative grade point average ranging from 2.5 to 3.25 who plan to continue their education or training at any accredited trade or vocational school.

    Deadline to Apply: February 28, 2019
  • Melba Jean Racener Scholarship ($1,500)

    Graduating seniors of any accredited high school whose home residence is in Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, or Warrick counties in Indiana. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and be planning to pursue post-secondary education in advertising, marketing, communications or a related field.

  • Mildred Wempe Memorial Scholarship 1 ($500)

    Graduates or graduating seniors of any Perry County high school pursuing education for a career in medicine or healthcare.

  • Mildred Wempe Memorial Scholarship 2 (Not awarding in 2018-2019)

    Graduates or graduating seniors of any Perry County high school pursuing a career in nursing. Applicants must be residents of Perry County and have a minimum cumulative high school or college grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale).

  • Old National Tell City Scholarship ($450)

    Graduating seniors of any Perry County high school pursuing post-secondary education of any kind.

  • Perry County 4-H Scholarship ($400)

    Graduating seniors of any Perry County high school. Applicants must have been members of 4-H for a minimum of five years.

  • Perry County FOP Scholarship ($500)

    Graduating seniors of any Perry County high school pursuing a career in law enforcement or a related field.

  • Robert E. Boyles Scholarship ($500)

    Graduating female seniors of Cannelton High School.

  • Robert Ress Memorial Scholarship (Not awarding in 2018-2019)

    Graduating seniors of Tell City High School pursuing post-secondary vocational education or specific career training. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and a strong academic record.

  • Rose Hazel Gabbert Paulin and Charles S. (Blackie) Paulin Scholarship ($400)

    Graduates of any Perry County high school pursuing post-secondary education. Applicants must have a 2.0 (4.0 scale) minimum cumulative grade point average.

  • Sam K. Oberhausen Memorial Scholarship ($500)

    Graduating seniors of Tell City High School pursuing post-secondary education. Applicants must demonstrate an active interest in the arts, a strong academic record, and financial need.

  • Sam Reed Scholarship ($200)

    Graduating seniors of any Perry County High School pursuing post secondary education. Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a (4.0 scale).

  • Stacey Peak Memorial Scholarship ($500)

    Graduating seniors of Tell City High School pursuing post-secondary education. Applicants must be in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need.

  • Wendell Werner and Loretta Werner Scholarship  (Not awarding in 2018-2019)

    Graduating seniors of Tell City High School pursuing post-secondary education.

  • William J. Schergens Music Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduating seniors or graduates of any Perry County high school pursuing a college degree in music (as a major or minor) or a degree in education with some emphasis in music.  Applicants must demonstrate financial need and good academic standing.

  • York Family Scholarship ($500)

    Graduating seniors of Perry Central High School planning to pursue a degree in elementary education.

  • Zachary Kleemann Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduating seniors of Tell City High School with a class ranking of no higher than 8th and no lower than 50th.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship for perry County

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship (full tuition and required fees)

Be a resident of Indiana and be a graduate of an accredited Perry County high school by June 2020 and attend full senior year at the same high school; have a minimum SAT score of 1200 (ERW and M scores only) or a minimum ACT score of 25 out of 36; have qualified for the Core 40 or Honors diploma in high school upon graduation; be available for an interview with the scholarship committee if selected as a finalist; apply for the scholarship in only one county.
