Annual scholarship created by Branchville Correctional Facility in memory of former employees to encourage current employees and their dependents to further their education and to motivate recipients to achieve maximum scholastic and vocational potential.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be full or part-time employees of the Branchville Correctional Facility or dependents of employees. The dependents must be 23 years old or younger. The applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a course of study leading to an undergraduate degree at any accredited college, university or technical school. Preference will be given to employees and then to employees’ dependents.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on scholastic record, evidence of leadership, career plans and objectives, and the required essay.
Supplemental Requirements
- Essay: Statement of Aspirations and Educational Goals (about 500 words/5,000 characters).
- Letter of recommendation from an individual other than a family member or another employee of the Branchville Correctional Facility in support of applicant’s desire to attain higher education.
- Official grade transcript.
