An annual scholarship created by Georgianne and Jim Parshall in loving memory of Georgianne’s aunt, Martha Byrne Brokaw. Martha Helen received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University, taught business classes at Princeton High School for over forty years, and served as co-owner and chief financial officer of Byrne Motors.
Graduating senior girls of Princeton Community High School planning to attend an accredited college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting.
Selection will be based on academic achievement with a passion for learning as demonstrated by GPA and academic awards and honors, compassion to help others as demonstrated through volunteer service to school and/or the community, and willingness to step out and lead as demonstrated through extra-curricular, community, or work activities.
- A short personal statement (500 words or less) describing how the applicant’s outstanding attributes and talents (including achievements, awards, and honors), service to school and/or the community, extra-curricular and leadership activities, and work experience (paid or volunteer) will help realize their current career goals and plans.
