Applicants must demonstrate qualities associated with a good moral character and respectable citizenship, including a cooperative attitude, respect for authority figures, responsibility and dependability, honesty, and friendliness.
Selection will be based on applicant’s demonstration of character and citizenship qualities gleamed from the application and supplemental requirements and on the quality and clarity (including spelling/grammar) of the required essay.
- Typewritten essay (200 to 250 words) answering the question, ”Why did you choose the school you will be attending?”
- Two letters of recommendation - one from applicant’s teacher or high school counselor and the other from someone who is unrelated to the applicant and who is not a school official or a Daviess County Community Foundation board member. Both letters must attest to applicant’s character and citizenship qualities as stated in the eligibility criteria.
