Graduating high school seniors who have successfully completed coursework and demonstrated outstanding promise in the shop/welding vocational programs of Gibson Southern High School. Applicants must be planning to pursue post-secondary education in vocational arts at any accredited college or university.
Selection will be based on applicant’s skills and abilities, recommendations from vocational teachers, academic performance, and the required essay.
- Essay: Statement of Aspirations and Educational Goals (not to exceed four typewritten, double-spaced pages) describing the benefits the applicant has received from vocational education and his or her plans for further education or training.
- Letter of Recommendation from one or more of applicant’s vocational teachers.
- Official grade transcript.
