Warren W. Parke Memorial Scholarship

Annual scholarship created in loving memory of Warren W. Parke by his daughter to honor his passion for sports, his contributions to the community, and his commitment to education.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduating seniors of Wood Memorial High School planning to pursue full-time enrollment at an accredited college or uni­versity. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale), have been involved in a school-sponsored sport each year of high school, and be regularly involved in com­munity service. Students who have been awarded full ”cost of attendance” schol­arships as defined by the NCAA are not eligible to apply.

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on all sections of the application form and on the supplemental document(s).

Supplemental Requirements

  • Essay (not to exceed two typewritten, double-spaced pages) explaining why the appli­cant believes he or she should be consid­ered for the award.
  • Letter of Recommenda­tion from one or more of the applicant’s coaches verifying that the applicant is a dedi­cated team player who has dem­on­strated good sportsmanship, a posi­tive mental atti­tude, team spirit, and a love of the sport(s) in which he or she has partici­pated.
  • Official grade transcript.
