spencer Community Scholarships

  • Alieene Vance Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

    Applicants that are natural or adopted children or grandchildren of current employees who have completed the equivalent of one year of full-time service with a company controlled by Don and David Foertsch prior to January 31 of the year in which the award is to be made will be given special consideration. Applicants must be high school seniors planning freshman enrollment in a full-time course of study leading to a baccalaureate degree at an accredited four-year degree-granting institution or planning freshman enrollment in a full-time course of study leading to a two-year degree or certificate at an accredited degree-granting junior college or State-supported technical college. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale).

  • Allison Tenbarge Criminal Justice Scholarship ($500)

    Female, graduating high school seniors in Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh or Warrick counties with a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) pursuing a post-secondary degree (2- or 4-year) in criminal justice or law enforcement.

  • Brauns Family Scholarship ($700)

    Graduating seniors of South Spencer High School who have attended at least two years at Luce Elementary School and are pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited institution.

  • Community Trust Scholarship (Not awarding during the 2020-2021 school year)

    Graduating seniors of any Spencer County high school pursuing post-secondary education. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and must demonstrate participation and leadership in extracurricular programs, school activities, and community organizations.

  • Cornelius R. Collignon Family Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduates of Heritage Hills High School in Spencer County, Indiana, who are entering their college sophomore, junior or senior year.  Past recipients of the award may reapply; however, preference will be given to first-time applicants.  Applicants must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and be pursuing a four-year degree at an accredited Indiana college or university majoring in agriculture, forestry or aviation (with preference given to applicants majoring in agriculture).  If there are an insufficient number of applicants, the scholarship will be made available to graduating seniors of Heritage Hills High School who meet the remaining criteria.

  • Friends of IU Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduating seniors of Heritage Hills High School who have been accepted to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.  Applicants must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale), financial need, strong leadership skills, and be involved in community and school activities.

  • Friends of Pioneer Scholarship ($500)

    High school graduates or graduating seniors who are residents of counties served by LPH Territory (Dubois, Perry, Pike, Spencer, Warrick) Sales Representatives.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and have at least one parent employed in the agriculture industry (e.g. farming, veterinary, agri-business, livestock production, 4-H staff, crop and soil science, etc.).  Applicants must be active in the community, be involved in civic endeavors and school activities, and be available for an interview with the scholarship committee if selected as a finalist.

  • Gene and Christina Schwindel Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduating seniors or graduates of Heritage Hills High School pursuing post-secondary education.

  • Harold and Thelma Hunter Scholarship ($500)

    Applicants must be graduating seniors of Heritage Hills High School with a minimum 2.8 grade point average (4.0 scale) planning to pursue post-secondary education at any accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school.

  • Jay Lampton Memorial Scholarship (Minimum $400)

    Graduating seniors of any high school served by the Community Foundation Alliance (which includes high schools located in the Indiana counties of Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick) with a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and who have been enrolled in technology courses during his or her high school education. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be planning to pursue post-secondary education at the Lincoln College of Technology (formerly Nashville Auto Diesel College) or another institution of higher education seeking a degree in auto mechanics.

  • Mabel Mason Ryan Memorial Scholarship ($2,500)

    Graduating seniors of any Spencer County high school pursuing post-secondary education for a career in medicine or other healthcare related field.

  • Melba Jean Racener Scholarship (Open to renewal candidate only - not accepting new applications.)

    Graduating seniors of any accredited high school whose home residence is in Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, or Warrick counties in Indiana. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and be planning to pursue post-secondary education in advertising, marketing, communications or a related field.

  • Mike Ryan Memorial Scholarship ($2,500)

    Graduating seniors of any Spencer County high school pursuing post-secondary education at any accredited educational institution. Preference will be given to students pursuing post-secondary vocational education.  Applicants must demonstrate good academic standing and financial need.

  • Narl and Hazel Conner Scholarship (Two $1,000 awards)

    Heritage Hills High School seniors with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) who plan to enroll as a full-time student at an accredited 4-year college or university.

  • Othmar and Virginia Ringeman Family Scholarship ($1,000 - Multiple scholarships may be awarded.)

    Heritage Hills High School seniors who plan to enroll as full-time students at an accredited 4-year college or university. Past recipients of the scholarship may reapply; however, renewal awards are not guaranteed. Renewal candidates must remain in good standing with his or her college or university and maintain a minimum 2.8 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) in order to reapply.

  • Project Associates Engineering Scholarship ($1,500)

    Qualified applicants must be a graduating senior of a high school located in Gibson, Henderson, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, or Warrick County who has been accepted at the University of Evansville or the University of Southern Indiana and has enrolled in a course of study leading to a four-year engineering degree; or a graduate from a high school located in Gibson, Henderson, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, or Warrick County currently enrolled and in good standing at the University of Evansville or the University of Southern Indiana and in the process of obtaining a four-year engineering degree. Previous recipients of the scholarship may re-apply for consideration and evaluation.

  • Raleigh and Thelma Abshier Scholarship ($200)

    Graduating seniors of South Spencer High School pursuing post-secondary education.

  • Schmidt-Yeager Scholarship ($1,000)

    Residents of Luce Township in Spencer County, Indiana, who are high school graduates and who have earned at least eighteen credit hours towards a college degree within the past ten years.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) from previous college coursework and must be planning to pursue a 2- or 4-year degree in healthcare or agriculture at any accredited college, university or technical school.  If there are an insufficient number of Luce Township applicants, the scholarship will be made available to graduates of South Spencer High School who meet the remaining criteria.

  • Spencer County Farm Bureau, Inc. Educational Scholarship ($900)

    Graduating high school seniors and current high school graduates, including graduating seniors or graduates from a home-school program or GED course, pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited institution.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and be available for an interview.

  • Spencer Industries Incorporated Scholarship ($2,000 - Multiple scholarships (up to three) may be awarded.)

    Applicants must be the natural, adopted or step-children of employees who have completed one year of full-time service with Spencer Industries Incorporated. If there are an insufficient number of applicants meeting the established criteria, the guidance counselor will notify Heritage Hills High School students that the scholarship is being made available to students whose parent(s) are not employees of Spencer Industries Incorporated.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship for spencer County

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship (full tuition and required fees)

Be a resident of Indiana; be a graduate of an accredited Spencer County high school by the end of June 2022; have a minimum 3.75 unweighted cumulative grade point average at the time of application deadline; have taken either the SAT or ACT (scores must appear on student's high school grade transcript or must be submitted separately); be available for an interview with the scholarship committee if selected as a finalist; apply for the scholarship in only one county.
