spencer Community Scholarships

  • Alieene Vance Memorial Scholarship ($2,000)

    Applicants that are natural or adopted children or grandchildren of current employees who have completed the equivalent of one year of full-time service with a company controlled by Don and David Foertsch prior to January 31 of the year in which the award is to be made will be given special consideration. Applicants must be high school seniors at any Spencer County high school planning freshman enrollment in a full-time course of study leading to a baccalaureate degree at an accredited four-year degree-granting institution or planning freshman enrollment in a full-time course of study leading to a two-year degree or certificate at an accredited degree-granting junior college or State-supported technical college. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale).

  • Brauns Family Scholarship ($250)

    Graduating seniors of South Spencer High School who have attended at least two years at Luce Elementary School and are pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited institution.

  • Cornelius R. Collignon Family Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduates of Heritage Hills High School in Spencer County, Indiana, who are entering their college sophomore, junior or senior year.  Past recipients of the award may reapply; however, preference will be given to first-time applicants.  Applicants must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and be pursuing a four-year degree at an accredited Indiana college or university majoring in agriculture, forestry or aviation (with preference given to applicants majoring in agriculture).  If there are an insufficient number of applicants, the scholarship will be made available to graduating seniors of Heritage Hills High School who meet the remaining criteria.

  • Friends of Pioneer Scholarship ($500)

    High school graduates or graduating seniors who are residents of counties served by LPH Territory Sales Representatives.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and have at least one parent employed in the agriculture industry (e.g. farming, veterinary, agri-business, livestock production, 4-H staff, crop and soil science, etc.).  Applicants must be active in the community, be involved in civic endeavors and school activities, and be available for an interview with the scholarship committee if selected as a finalist.

  • Gene and Christina Schwindel Scholarship ($1,000. Multiple scholarships may be awarded from this amount.)

    Graduating seniors or graduates of Heritage Hills High School pursuing post-secondary education.

  • Harold and Thelma Hunter Scholarship ($90)

    Applicants must be graduating seniors of Heritage Hills High School with a minimum 2.8 grade point average (4.0 scale) planning to pursue post-secondary education at any accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school.

  • Jay Lampton Memorial Scholarship ($500)

    Graduating seniors of any high school served by the Community Foundation Alliance (which includes high schools located in the Indiana counties of Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick) with a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and who have been enrolled in technology courses during his or her high school education. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be planning to pursue post-secondary education at the Lincoln College of Technology (formerly Nashville Auto Diesel College) or another institution of higher education seeking a degree in auto mechanics.

  • Mabel Mason Ryan Memorial Scholarship (Two $2,500 awards.)

    Graduating seniors of any Spencer County high school pursuing post-secondary education for a career in medicine or other healthcare related field.

  • Mike Ryan Memorial Scholarship (Two $2,500 awards.)

    Graduating seniors of any Spencer County high school pursuing post-secondary education at any accredited educational institution. Preference will be given to students pursuing post-secondary vocational education.  Applicants must demonstrate good academic standing and financial need.

  • Narl and Hazel Conner Scholarship (Two $1,000 awards)

    Heritage Hills High School seniors with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) who plan to enroll as a full-time student at an accredited 4-year college or university.

  • Othmar and Virginia Ringeman Family Scholarship ($1,500)

    Heritage Hills High School seniors who plan to enroll as full-time students at an accredited 4-year college or university. Past recipients of the scholarship may reapply; however, renewal awards are not guaranteed. Renewal candidates must remain in good standing with his or her college or university and maintain a minimum 2.8 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) in order to reapply.

  • Raleigh and Thelma Abshier Scholarship ($500)

    Graduating seniors of South Spencer High School pursuing post-secondary education.

  • Schmidt-Yeager Scholarship ($1,500)

    Residents of Luce Township in Spencer County, Indiana, who are high school graduates and who have earned at least eighteen credit hours towards a college degree within the past ten years.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) from previous college coursework and must be planning to pursue a 2- or 4-year degree in healthcare or agriculture at any accredited college, university or technical school.  If there are an insufficient number of Luce Township applicants, the scholarship will be made available to graduates of South Spencer High School who meet the remaining criteria.

  • Spencer Industries Incorporated Scholarship ($1,510. Multiple scholarships may be awarded from this amount.)

    Applicants must be the natural, adopted or step-children of employees who have completed one year of full-time service with Spencer Industries Incorporated. If there are an insufficient number of applicants meeting the established criteria, the guidance counselor will notify Heritage Hills High School students that the scholarship is being made available to students whose parent(s) are not employees of Spencer Industries Incorporated.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship for spencer County

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship (full tuition and required fees)

Be a graduate of an accredited Spencer County high school by June 2018 and attend full junior and senior year at an accredited Spencer County high school; have taken either the SAT or ACT (scores must appear on student's high school grade transcript or must be submitted separately); have a minimum unweighted 3.75 cumulative grade point average at the time of application deadline; be available for an interview on October 18, 2017 if selected as a finalist; apply for the scholarship in only one county.
