Vanderburgh Men’s Fund Awards $33,000 in Impact Grants

(Evansville, Indiana) At their annual meeting on Thursday, October 24, donors to the Vanderburgh County Men’s Fund gathered at the Evansville Museum to select the 2019 Impact Grant recipient. The group of donors voted to award this year’s finalists a total of $33,000 in grants, making the total grants awarded from the Fund an impressive $117,300.

This is the fourth year for the impact grants which support programs benefiting Vanderburgh County. Past impact grant recipients and projects include the EVSC Foundation, Inc. for the Let’s Put the Shirts on Their Backs Hangers program; the Ozanam Family Shelter for fire protection and kitchen upgrades; and the Boys and Girls Club of Evansville for the Passport to Manhood Program.

On Thursday night, the group selected Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center as the $30,000 grant recipient. The grant will support an internship program designed to meet the critical need for children’s mental health services. The program is expected to impact children and families by increasing the immediate availability of mental health services and investing in the future of the region’s mental health landscape. In addition, Dream Center Evansville received a $1,500 grant for support of the Jacobsville Kids Zone initiative, a wrap-around care and academic development program serving elementary school students. Finally, the Evansville Christian Life Center received a $1,500 grant for support of the 24/7 Dad Initiative, a program offered in collaboration with the Parenting Time Center and focused on helping local fathers develop skills to successfully engage in the lives of their children.
