Vanderburgh County, Indiana, October 25 2018—At their annual meeting on October 25, donors to the Men’s Fund of the Vanderburgh Community Foundation gathered at the Evansville Museum of Arts, History, & Science to select the 2018 Vanderburgh County Impact Grants. The nearly 80-member group of donors voted to award this year’s finalists a total of $37,000, making the total grants awarded from the Fund an impressive $84,300.
This is just the 3rd year the group has selected grant awards. Last year’s recipients and projects were the Ozanam Family Shelter for fire protection and kitchen upgrades, and Youth First and the Public Education Foundation of Evansville for general support. And, in 2016, grants were awarded to the Boys and Girls Club of Evansville for the Passport to Manhood Program, and to Youth First and Parenting Time Center for general support.
Grant recipients selected this year are EVSC Foundation, Inc., awarded a $32,000 grant for their Let’s Put the Shirts on Their Backs Hangers program, which serves as a clothing resource for over 22,000 students across all 40 EVSC schools. Two runner-ups, the Deaconess Foundation and the Evansville Christian Life Center, were awarded $2,500 grants each for general support.
Based on the Foundation’s funding priorities of arts and culture, community development, education, health, human services, and other civic endeavors, such as the environment, recreation, and youth development, these grants conclude the Men’s Fund 2018 Vanderburgh County Impact Grant program.
