vanderburgh Community Scholarships

  • Alfred Savia Distinguished Young Artist Award ($500)

    Graduating high school seniors with a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) who have participated in the EPYO for at least one year prior to applying for this scholarship. Applicants must be planning to pursue a degree in music (performance, education, therapy, etc.) at an accredited college or university.

  • Cassin-David Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduating seniors of any accredited Vanderburgh county high school with a MAXIMUM 3.4 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) planning to attend any accredited college, university, or technical/vocational school.

  • Central High School Class of 1943 Evelyn Church Hatfield Scholarship ($250)

    Graduating seniors of Central High School in Evansville, Indiana, planning to pursue postsecondary education at any accredited college, university, or technical/vocational school. Applicants must demonstrate participation in business classes at Central High School.

  • Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard Scholarship ($1,500)

    Graduating seniors of Harrison High School who demonstrate the greatest potential for leadership in public affairs and contributions to the community.

  • David A. Koehler Sr. Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduating seniors of Central High School who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale) and have obtained the Gold and Brown rating for at least six semesters.

  • Dorothy Rapp Music Scholarship ($500)

    Active members of any Baptist church in Evansville, Indiana. Applicants must plan to pursue education or development of music skills consistent with Christian principles and lifestyle for the furtherance of church music. Past recipients may reapply; however, renewal awards are not guaranteed.

  • Greater Evansville USBCA Scholarship ($1,000)

    Applicants must have been members of the Greater Evansville USBCA for two of the past four years, or their children, who have a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and attend high school in Posey, Vanderburgh, or Warrick counties.

  • Harrison High School Class of 1965 Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduating seniors of Harrison High School with a minimum 2.5 grade point average (4.0 scale) planning to attend a two- or four-year college, university, or technical/vocational school.

  • Jay Lampton Memorial Scholarship ($400)

    Graduating seniors of any high school served by the Community Foundation Alliance (which includes high schools located in the Indiana counties of Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick) with a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and who have been enrolled in technology courses during his or her high school education. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be planning to pursue post-secondary education at the Lincoln College of Technology (formerly Nashville Auto Diesel College) or another institution of higher education seeking a degree in auto mechanics.

  • Jeremy Weil Memorial Art Scholarship ($532)

    Graduating seniors of any Vanderburgh County high school who have completed a minimum of three full years of high school art classes and plan to enroll in art training at a college/university, vocational school, summer school/camp, or private lessons to be used for tuition, fees, or books.

  • Legacy Scholarship ($300)

    Graduating high school seniors who have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale), who are residents of Vanderburgh County, and who are planning to pursue post-secondary education at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in Indiana. The recipient of the Legacy Scholarship must be a first-generation college student whose parents (the applicant’s biological parents, adoptive parents, or legal guardians) have not attained a college degree (associate degree or higher).

  • Lois and Betsy Hamburg University of Evansville Scholarship (Two $3,000 awards.)

    Graduating high school seniors of any accredited Vanderburgh County high school or current UE students pursuing advanced education at UE.

  • Lois and Betsy Hamburg University of Southern Indiana Scholarship (Two $3,000 awards.)

    Graduating high school seniors of any accredited Vanderburgh County high school or current USI students pursuing advanced education at USI.

  • Lori O’Banion Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduating seniors of any Vanderburgh County high school and graduating seniors of Warren Central High School and Pike High School in Marion County in Indiana who have suffered the loss of a parent and are planning to attend an accredited post-secondary institution. Past recipients of the scholarship may also apply. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Mark Kniese Scholarship (Award amount and application deadline to be determined at the beginning of the 2018 summer camp season.)

    Applicants must be Camp counselors at YMCA Camp Carson located in Princeton, Indiana, planning post-secondary education at an accredited college or university. In addition to demonstrating dedication to and rapport with campers, applicants must exhibit the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

  • Project Associates Engineering Scholarship ($1,000)

    Qualified applicants must be a graduating senior of a high school located in Gibson, Henderson, Pike, Posey, Vanderburgh, or Warrick County who has been accepted at the University of Evansville or the University of Southern Indiana and has enrolled in a course of study leading to a four-year engineering degree; or a graduate from a high school located in Gibson, Henderson, Pike, Posey, Vanderburgh, or Warrick County currently enrolled and in good standing at the University of Evansville or the University of Southern Indiana and in the process of obtaining a four-year engineering degree. Previous recipients of the scholarship may re-apply for consideration and evaluation.

  • Rease Henry McDaniel Memorial Scholarship ($1,500)

    Graduating seniors of Harrison High School who have or have had cancer, a physical handicap, or a serious medical problem. Applicants must have maintained a scholastic letter grade average of C or above and demonstrate good citizenship, participation in school and community activities, personal achievement, and good personal qualities.

  • Russ Mason Memorial Golf Scholarship ($250)

    Graduating seniors who are residents of Vanderburgh County or are graduating from an Evansville high school and who are planning to play college golf.

  • Southwestern Indiana Master Gardener Association Scholarship ($2,000)

    Graduating seniors or graduates of any high school located in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, or Warrick counties who are planning full-time enrollment at an accredited college or university. Applicants must have a minimum 2.65 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) or equivalent and be planning to major in horticulture, botany, or landscape architecture or a major that has primary focus in horticulture, botany, or landscape architecture. Past recipients of the scholarship may reapply; however, renewal awards are not guaranteed.

  • Thomas F. Walls Youth Hockey Scholarship ($1,000)

    Graduating high school seniors who participate in the Evansville Youth Hockey Association, have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale), and provided that the high school ranks its students, be in the top 20% of their graduating class. Applicants must be planning to pursue post-secondary education at any accredited college, university or technical/vocational school.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship for vanderburgh

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship (full tuition and required fees)

Be an Indiana resident who attends high school in Vanderburgh County or lives in Vanderburgh County and graduate by June 2018; be in the top 10% of graduating class; have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) upon high school graduation; have a minimum SAT score of 1340 on the revised SAT test (taken during or after March 2016) or 1880 on the old SAT test (taken before March 2016) or a minimum ACT score of 28; have completed a minimum of the Indiana Academic Honors curriculum in high school upon graduation; be available for an interview on Saturday, October 21, 2017, with the scholarship committee if selected as a finalist; apply for the scholarship in only one county.
